Understanding EV engineering drawings & technical documentation

Week 2: EV Subsystem Design
Battery Pack Design
Cell types (NMC, LFP, cylindrical/prismatic/pouch)
Series–parallel configuration, capacity, C-rate, thermal considerations
Motor & Controller Selection
BLDC / PMSM fundamentals, torque-speed characteristics
Controller/inverter basics, PWM, regenerative braking logic
Subsystem Drafting in CAD
Designing battery housings, motor mounts, cooling channels
High-voltage cable routing & packaging layouts

Week 3: Analysis, Simulation & Safety
Thermal & Structural Analysis
Basic thermal management of batteries and motors
Introduction to FEA for EV components: brackets, casings, housings
Electrical Safety & Standards
EV high-voltage safety, insulation, grounding
Standards: ISO 6469, AIS standards, UN38.3 (battery transport)
Powertrain Modeling
Gear reduction ratios for electric vehicles
Vehicle performance simulations: range, acceleration, gradeability

Week 4: System Integration & Internship Tasks
Full E-Powertrain Integration
Layout integration: battery, motor, controller, cooling, wiring
EMI/EMC considerations & cable management
Testing & Validation
DVP&R basics for EV systems
