Automotive CAD Design Intern

About the Role: We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Automotive CAD Design Intern to join our engineering team. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, work on real vehicle systems, and develop hands-on experience with industry-standard design tools. You will support the design and development of automotive components, subsystems, and prototypes under the guidance of senior engineers.

 

Responsibilities:

Assist in designing automotive components using CAD software (SolidWorks / CATIA / Creo / Fusion 360)

Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed technical drawings

Support design calculations, material selection, and basic engineering documentationParticipate in design reviews and contribute to design improvements

Collaborate with the engineering team on prototype development and testing

Maintain CAD libraries, BOMs, and project documentation

Requirements:

Pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Production Engineering or related field

Basic knowledge of automotive components and vehicle systems

Familiarity with at least one CAD tool (SolidWorks/CATIA/Creo/Fusion 360)

Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing fundamentals

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Eagerness to learn and work in a fast-paced engineering environment

 

Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory)

Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation)

Knowledge of sheet metal or plastic design

Exposure to vehicle dynamics, powertrain, or chassis engineering

Hands-on experience in university teams (Formula Student, Baja, Go-kart, Robotics, etc.)
